About Guruvayoor Temple
Guruvayoor Sree Krishna Temple is one of the most important Hindu pilgrimage centres in India. Located in Guruvayoor town, Thrissur district, Kerala, this temple is dedicated to Lord Krishna in the form of Guruvayoorappan — the four-armed Vishnu holding the conch, discus, mace, and lotus.
Often called the "Dwarka of the South", Guruvayoor attracts millions of devotees every year. It's one of the few temples in India where the daily rituals have continued unbroken for centuries. The temple is especially famous for weddings — getting married at Guruvayoor is considered one of the most auspicious things a Hindu couple can do in Kerala.
