India's Southernmost Tip

Kanyakumari is where three seas meet — the Arabian Sea, the Indian Ocean, and the Bay of Bengal. Standing at the southernmost point of mainland India, watching the sun rise over one sea and set into another from the same spot, is an experience you don't get anywhere else on the planet.
Located just 90 km from Trivandrum, Kanyakumari is one of the most popular day trips in South India — combining spirituality, history, and natural beauty in a compact coastal town.
Top Places to Visit
Vivekananda Rock Memorial
A memorial built on a rock island 500 metres offshore, at the spot where Swami Vivekananda meditated for three days in December 1892 before his famous speech at the Parliament of World Religions in Chicago. Reached by a short ferry ride from the mainland.
- Ferry timings: 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
- Ferry fare: from ₹50 (includes Thiruvalluvar Statue stop)

Thiruvalluvar Statue
A 133-ft stone statue of the Tamil poet-saint Thiruvalluvar, standing on a rock island next to Vivekananda Memorial. The statue's height (133 ft) represents the 133 chapters of his masterwork, the Thirukkural. The same ferry covers both islands.
Sunrise & Sunset Points
Kanyakumari is one of the few places where you can watch both sunrise and sunset over the sea from the same location.
