Why Kovalam is Kerala's Most Famous Beach

Kovalam is a coastal town just 16 km south of Trivandrum city centre. The Three Beaches

Lighthouse Beach (Main Beach)

The most popular and lively of the three. Named after the Vizhinjam Lighthouse at the southern end. This is where most tourists spend their time — swimming, sunbathing, surfing, and eating at the beachfront restaurants. The lighthouse is open to visitors and offers panoramic views from the top.

Hawah Beach (Eve's Beach)

Samudra Beach (Northern Beach)

The quietest of the three. Longer stretch of sand with fewer tourists. Popular with locals and families. Several luxury resorts line this beach.

• From Varkala: 50 km, 1.5 hours. Combine both beaches in one trip
